About Me

I'm a web and applications developer with nearly 20 years commercial experience. In that time I have been privileged to work with organisations such as Moorfields Eye Hospital, Barts Health and most recently St John Ambulance. Primarily a .NET developer with over 12 years experience, I am full-stack but most recently focused on .NET Core Web APIs. You can often find me London .NET User Group, UK Azure User Group and other .NET/DevOps meet ups.

Outside of the tech world I'm an avid cyclist and long-suffering Spurs season ticket holder. I also enjoy quiz shows and quizzing as well as doing jigsaw puzzles.

Inspirations

Here are just some of the people I admire for the contributions to the world of tech.

Scott Hanselman. A Program Manager at Microsoft, and a strong advocate of underrepresented groups in tech, there is no oe more dedicated to improving diversity. His podcast is also a fascinating listen.

Julie Lerman. A freelance database consultant, she helped thousands (including myself) over the many years with her Pluralsight courses and books.

Linux Torvalds. Although rightly criticised for some of his interactions with people, it's hard to imagine a world without tools he led the creation of such as Linux and Git.

Troy Hunt.Regional Director at Microsoft and security maestro, his tool "Have I been pwned? is an invaluable tool to help users secure their accounts.

David Fowler. Partner Software Architect at Microsoft in ASP.NET, always willing to engage and gift his expertise via his twitter.

Jon Skeet. Do I have to say more?
